On the first day of winter, Kapelki experienced a burst of spring during their maths lesson. Spring along with her round, rosy friend — the number 8, handed each child a flower and asked them to create a colourful arrangement of eight similar blooms around it, all to celebrate their mums.
Yes, it’s a bit unusual to celebrate mums on the 1st of December, but our lessons are magical, and in fairy tales, wonders always happen. So, we marked an early 8th of March celebration, sitting at a table adorned with floral bouquets and sipping deliciously colourful drinks prepared by the children themselves.
Of course, we didn’t forget to solve some maths problems too — no lesson would be complete without them!
During the grammar lesson, we went on quite an adventure with the letter Ъ. Our journey took us over mountains, through forests, across bridges, around pits, along trails and paths — but at last, we arrived at a magical house. There, we staged a lively rehearsal with songs and dances!
Zvezdochki were, once again, incredibly fortunate. Delving into the fascinating architecture of fox dens, we learned about their branching tunnels and the central "kettle" chamber. This insight confirmed why foxes are known for their cunning, but also showed us how caring they are, patiently raising their cubs and teaching them the art of burrow building.
We joined in by helping the young foxes search for the best spots for their dens. To determine the ideal location, we studied the composition of the soil. Together with the fox cubs, we conducted several experiments, examining forest soil, clay, and river sand under a magnifying glass. In the end, we concluded that the forest offers the most suitable ground for building a fox den. What a clever and educational day it was!
And we’d like to add that forest soil is so diverse and teeming with life — our experiments uncovered all sorts of little creatures, from beetles to worms — that it’s almost fair to say the soil itself is alive! Have you ever thought about that? It’s truly fascinating to imagine the earth beneath our feet as its own bustling, vibrant world.
