A Day of New Skills and Exciting Discoveries!

On the 23rd of March, the children were introduced to a brand-new learning technique—and they put it to use straight away in their lessons. Isn’t that marvellous?

Kapelki worked in special handwriting practice books, writing with both hands at the same time! What a challenge! 😇 At first, the right hand would rush ahead while the other lagged behind, then the roles would switch—the left hand would race forward while the right took a rest...

But with our gentle guidance, the children learned that patience and focus were key. They realised that instead of hurrying, they needed to find a rhythm and carefully coordinate both hands. And in the end, our clever and diligent learners mastered the skill! For a first attempt, they did incredibly well. Well done, little hard workers! The new skill has been introduced—now we’ll keep practising! Attention, patience, and perseverance—that’s our golden rule!

Our brilliant little hands also created something truly magical today—something fluttering! Any guesses? That’s right—beautiful, shimmering butterflies! Everything around us is blooming, so it’s only natural that the butterflies have woken up too. What a delight!

Zvezdochki didn’t fall behind either! In our Russian language lesson, we used mnemonics to memorise tongue twisters. First, we practised using mnemonic tables with text, and later, we tried to recall them using only pictures. Oh, it wasn’t easy at first—some of the words got tangled up on our tongues! But it was fun, engaging, and most importantly—effective!

Then we dived into our hedgehog-themed topic! We discovered so many fascinating facts about these prickly little creatures. Life isn’t easy for them—especially when they need to collect lots of leaves for their burrows! Would you believe that hedgehogs walk up to 9 kilometres a night on their tiny legs, gobbling up over 100 insects in the process? Amazing!

During our financial literacy lesson, we solved maths problems about hedgehogs and created bar charts to visually compare which creatures hedgehogs find easiest to catch. We even had a lively debate on the topic! It was an exciting and thought-provoking session!
