Zvezdochki

In the economics lesson, Zvezdochki continued observing our woodland characters. After discussing the Magpie’s role as a broker, they understood why she takes a commission on each deal. After all, she spends her days negotiating back and forth with a buyer and with a seller! We solved a few problems featuring the Magpie and then moved on to Badger, who had decided to enter the hotel business. Based on our calculations, this line of work seemed quite profitable.

Inspired by what they’d learned, the children acted out similar scenarios and went home feeling pleased with their new knowledge. We hope they’ll share their ideas and insights with their peers and families!

Kapelki

The "Crafty Hands" lesson in nature studies and creativity was a lively, engaging, educational, and even tasty experience for the Kapelki. The session was dedicated to exploring our five senses. With sincere curiosity, the children worked out which sense we use to learn about different objects. For example, to learn about a watermelon, we not only looked at it, using our eyes and hands, but we also tasted and smelled it, thanks to the help of our mouth and nose. And to check if the watermelon was ripe, we tapped on it and listened for that distinct ringing sound, where our fifth helper—the ear—came into play.

It was such fun to identify the taste of white, powdery substances—salty, sweet, and sour—especially since neither our eyes, ears, nose, nor hands could help. And how wonderfully our little noses worked today! They sniffed out pepper, garlic, coffee, chocolate, various spices, and even dried mushrooms. Oh, how clever, and active Kapelki were—there’s no doubt about it!
