Kapelki and multi-story buildings

Today, Kapelki were joined in their grammar lesson by their cheerful assistant Vasilisa, who brought along her dear friends, Elya and Elechka. Together, they explored an important yet rare letter — can you guess which one? That’s right, it was the letter "Э"!

The adventure began in a new residential area, where the children visited various multi-story buildings. They met Wise Owl and Baby Shark on the first floor, Sea Lion on the fifth, and finally reached the top floor, where Flamingo welcomed them with ice cream. After their warm reception, the group headed to the zoo, where they encountered a fascinating flightless bird, the Emu, and spotted several excavators. Were they animal homes? No way! The excavators were hard at work helping the builders. What an exciting discovery!

As they explored the new neighbourhood, the children stopped by at an electronics store to pick up some household essentials. Some chose vacuum cleaners, others opted for microwaves and refrigerators, while a few decided an electric heater was the most important item. What a responsible bunch!

For a well-earned break, everyone ventured into the forest, where Elya and Elechka had promised a fun game of "Echo." Their enthusiasm was contagious, and soon the whole group was shouting out vowels and laughing as the echoes bounced back at them. Such a joyful and educational way to wrap up their phonics lesson!

In the crafting lesson, after listening to an amusing story about a little frog, the children put on a lively frog race—or, more accurately, a frog hopping contest! They also crafted adorable paper frogs, and even their cheering squad was "froggy-themed." What a fun and energetic way to end the day!

Zvezdochki

Zvezdochki had an exciting lesson today about the history of traffic lights. They learned that the first traffic light appeared in London over 150 years ago, that Japan once had traffic lights with blue signals, and that Australia had an unusual version resembling a three-colored clock face with an arrow. After covering the theoretical and grammar portions of the lesson, they enthusiastically got to work crafting their own Australian-style traffic light. Though these designs are no longer in use on Australian roads, diving into history is always fascinating!

In the financial literacy lesson, the theme of movement continued — this time underground! The children helped moles calculate distances between their burrows, estimated the number of tasty treats a mole family could gather in a day if they worked together, and discovered an astonishing fact: a mole eats almost its entire body weight in food every single day. Incredible!

And with that, our wonderful students are off for their holiday break!

Wishing everyone an exciting and restful vacation—see you all on February 23rd!
