Zvezdochki were absolute stars today!
After successfully mapping out the hamster’s winding path to his burrow, the children tackled problems involving indirect comparisons. They even began modelling their own word problems using both direct and indirect comparison strategies. Such clever minds at work!
And that wasn’t all!
Together with Papa Hamster and his curious little son, we explored the concept of a family budget. We calculated profit by examining income and essential expenses, and practised planning future spending. This helped us determine whether the hamsters had a surplus, deficit, or balanced budget.
Oh, how much more exciting learning lies ahead for our young economists! 💰📊🐹
Today, a family of hedgehogs happened to scurry past our school and, overhearing that someone was speaking about their kind, decided to pop into the Kapelki Russian lesson!
The children were telling a delightful story about a little hedgehog rushing off to Squirrel’s birthday party.
While in the company of our spiky visitors, we had a little daydream about where we might all go together. Some weren’t keen on the forest, others had just returned from the seaside and weren’t eager to go back. A few were wary of the mountains, and some weren’t quite sure what could be so fascinating under water. In the end, we all agreed that a gentle stroll with the hedgehogs near the school would be just perfect.
After finishing our activities with the letter Е, learning how to write words using schematic representations, and practising syllable reading with the vowels Е and Э, we headed out for a refreshing walk. With a boost of energy and a snack to keep us going, we returned to tackle some maths problems!
The tasks were so engaging that we first acted them out, then recorded the results in our workbooks. It was such fun hopping like little frogs and landing on the specific spots from the problem statements.
And today, Kapelki had the delight of meeting none other than Fyodora Yegorovna herself — yes, that Fyodora, whose crockery famously ran away in the beloved tale Fedora’s Grief!
The children absolutely loved the happy ending. 👍 They eagerly promised to take good care of their own plates, cups, and cutlery to avoid any such dishware rebellion at home.
After our chat about crockery, the little ones couldn’t wait to share how they help their mums and grandmothers in the kitchen — sifting flour for pies, shaping and frying syrniki, and offering tasty treats to anyone nearby! They also enjoy pouring delicious drinks into fancy glasses and, of course, doing lots of taste-testing! 😊
Now, our clever clogs can tell the difference between tea sets, coffee sets, dinnerware, and kitchenware. What a knowledgeable bunch!
To prepare for our imaginary tea party with syrniki, we decided to decorate the table with flowers — and made our own beautiful vases filled with blossoms! 🌸
Our little “crafty hands” worked ever so hard today: each child carefully cut out decorative elements and created their own unique vase designs. Brilliant effort all round!
A fantastic mix of learning and laughter — what a lovely day! 🦔📚✨
